Jason & MPS

What is your name?
Jason (last name withheld upon request)

What is your teams name? What is their website (if applicable)?
MPS – Metro Paranormal Society

What are your team duties?
I am the founder and lead investigator of my team. What I say goes.

How many years experience do you have in the field?
In MPS, about 3 years. General paranormal field experience would range about 10 years.

What got you into ghost hunting and paranormal investigating?
The stories and experiences those around me were having and had. Before I really got into the paranormal I hadn’t had any paranormal experiences, or I had and not realized it. I’ve come to see now that people who even believe that they haven’t most likely have in one form or another without realizing it. Writing it off as something else, something that makes more sense to them.

What is the best experience you’ve ever had during an investigation?
My main field of expertise is EVP recording. Any EVP we capture I consider a good experience. Having them call out your name or say something totally relevant to you is amazing.

Have you ever been scared of an experience and if so what happened?
Not really. It’s called paranormal but I view it more as a normal. It’s just something that isn’t entirely understood yet.

Where has your favorite place been to investigate?
My favorite places to investigate are peoples homes. Because they are real. These are real experiences, real problems, being caused for someone or people and helping them in any capacity is a great feeling.

What location would you most like to investigate?
An Insane Asylum. Hands down…

Any advice for the would-be ghost hunters?
Stop watching T.V. Those T.V. teams aren’t the real deal. They aren’t! Get off your ass and do it for yourself. Get the REAL evidence. Come up with your own theories and ideologies and don’t listen to what T.V. teams have to say. Remember, they need ratings. They want ratings. They are willing to fake or exaggerate evidence to get it… I don’t care what anyone says.

Also be weary of other teams. There are those out there that consider this to be a competition and will try to destroy your reputation. Just stay away from people like that and don’t get caught up in their games.

Any advice for people who are experiencing paranormal events?

The best advice I can give is don’t panic. Most spirits, er ghost? lol, are simply lost and confused. Even if you get a mean spirited ghost remember that something probably happened, really bad, to make them that way. Be firm and direct and tell them to leave you and your family alone. If this doesn’t help do some research online and find the best team in your area. Contact them and see if they can give you answers. I would also stay away from teams that rely solely on metaphysical means for investigations unless this is also your belief. The most powerful weapon you can have is your beliefs.

Any last words?
Remember that these sorts of things don’t have to be paranormal. I personally believe that this is just a level of understanding, you can even call it science, that we simply don’t have the means to understand. If spirits are energy then there are ways to connect to that energy.
